Smartphone users waiting for Android 17 have a clearer idea of when their devices may receive the next major software update. A published ColorOS 17 rollout schedule for eligible OnePlus and realme devices lists waves beginning in late October 2026 and continuing into early 2027.
The schedule is a timeline for planned rollout waves, not a guarantee that every handset will receive the update on a specific day. Availability can depend on the model, region and staged software deployment.

These are broad rollout waves, not an exhaustive list of every model or regional variant. Owners should check the manufacturer’s detailed schedule for their exact handset.
Will every eligible phone get the update on the announced date?
No. Software updates are commonly released in batches. Even when a model appears in a particular rollout window, users may receive the update at different times. Regional firmware versions, device variants, carrier requirements and stability checks can affect availability.
How to check for the update
Connect to a reliable Wi-Fi network, open Settings and enter the software update section. Check for available updates and read the release notes before installing. Menu wording may vary by device. Back up important data and keep the phone sufficiently charged before a major upgrade.
What users should remember
The announced timeline places the first ColorOS 17 update waves at the end of October 2026, with more eligible OnePlus and realme devices scheduled for November and December. Some models are listed for Q1 2027. Verify the exact model and market against official manufacturer information, and treat a rollout date as an expected window rather than confirmation that an update is already available.
